Possible fun activity for your child when they are sick
Several months ago, there was a stomach virus going around. My son got this and was throwing up for 1 day. To my disbelief, between throwing up, he was still wanting to run around and play. I wanted to keep him still and calm so we emptied and lined up all his puzzles. Then, he took one puzzle piece, at a time, and placed it into the puzzle boards. This kept him still for an hour. We started playing with puzzles like this at 18months. I also made him hearted toastJ

Easy and simple gift ideas for last minute Christmas gifts, an upcoming birthday gift or just an all around nice gift. We have personal favorites that are practical and educational that we would like to recommend.

Wisemommies#1 purchased the Ikea Mula bead roller coaster which is designed for toddlers and is constructed very well. The beads are made of wood just like the base, and the rods are metal. You can mount it on a wall or leave it on the floor.
Wisemommies #2 purchased her massive bead maze from a consignment shop. It looks like the ones you often see in a pediatrician’s office.
We think this bead roller coaster is an excellent freestyle toy for a young child since it develops fine motor skills, logical thinking, helps encourage children to learn their colors much more quickly, develops basic hand-eye coordination, beginning shape recognition skills (preparing them for more advanced geometrical shapes later), learn numbers more rapidly (basic mathematics), and keeps your child captivated while encouraging their imagination.
Best of all, this toy is cheap making it affordable for any parent, has no small pieces to lose, no assembly, and no cleanup. It is also the perfect toy for group play. Several children can play with the toy at the same time, increasing social play while reducing the chance of fighting over one toy. Toys which encourage children to play face to face are paramount in assisting a healthy upbringing through social development.

Whose toddler doesn’t like Elmo?
Elmo and his friends from Sesame Street are ready to help young minds grow. These Sesame Street flash cards are designed to teach children about the relationship between body parts and their functions, as well as, to build word recognition and vocabulary. This set also includes a parent guide with fun skill-building activities. We started using these flash cards when our sons were around 8 months and they still love playing and learning with them.
This wooden puzzle game encourages children’s hands and eyes to work together by revealing a colorful, surprise image beneath each letter. And when it’s time to put the puzzle back together, it challenges your child to match alphabet shapes to their corresponding pictures.
A fun game of picture matching with Curious George and friends. My son loves Curious George, and he can sit for an hour playing this game with us. This matching game helps build memory skills as well as encourages turn-taking and playing together

We've been in the same mommy group going on two years now. It's wonderful to watch each one's child, and now children, growing up and all still playing together. Holiday get togethers are especially fun with all the children dressing up and interacting. Halloween Pictures from Mommy Group
Recently, we had a Christmas themed mommy group get together.

Lots of fun!!

Now that the Weather is finally getting cooler here in Dallas;
we thought a quick post about some good "old but classic" fun and entertaining games would be perfect.

Fun play ideas don't have to cost a lot:
- let your kids get creative with Crayola 3D Chalks, either in your backyard (with concrete) or the sidewalk supervised by a parent.
- toss beanbags into a hula hoop and see who gets the most points. (we made ours out of old kids socks and filled them with dried beans)
- fill some old plastic bottles with colored water and try bowling them over
